Mrs. Sandra Lee McBride

Sandra Lee McBride age 83 years of Mickleton died peacefully on Saturday December 31, 2022 in Shady Lane Home, Clarksboro. Sandra was born in Billingsport to the late George and Viola Richman Ray and moved to Pitman in 1950; graduating from Pitman High School in 1956 where she met her late husband, Allen McBride. For a few years after they where married she worked for Automotive Supply in Camden and later Patterson Oil in Paulsboro. At this time Sandy was living with her husband in the house where she was born in Billingsport and in 1964 her daughter Beth was born. Sandy was active in Billingsport U.M. Church with her husband where they served as youth fellowship advisors. In 1965 she moved to the funeral home and moved her church membership to St. Paul’s where she remained an active member for over 55 years. During this time she assisted her husband as business secretary and all around helper. In 1971 she welcomed another daughter, Alane. As her children grew, she served as a Sunday School Teacher and secretary, choir director, head of vacation bible school and business manager for Paulsboro High School annual musicals for many years. Sandra was a past member of Paulsboro Sinawiks, Cedarettes of Glassboro Forest #1; Gibbstown – Paulsboro Rotary Club; Blue Auxilary of Paulsboro Lodge #62 F. & A.M. and kitchen help anytime she was needed at the Paulsboro Fire Association. In her free time she enjoyed traveling worldwide to places such as Hawaii, Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland as well as many cruises. They also enjoyed trips to visit family in Bradenton - Sarasota, Florida and visiting Disneyworld. Over the last few years Sandra has enjoyed participating in Clonmell Worship services with her family. Sandra was proud to be the first woman on the altar to serve communion at St. Paul’s U.M. Church in Paulsboro, but her greatest love was her four children and taking care of and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Beth and Tom Foley of Mickleton; Alane and Dave Horner of Mt. Royal; her grandchildren, Laura, Ian and Emma; her nephews, Allen and Ted and Colleen Storms of Florida and her niece, Karen and Simon Hewitt of England. Sandy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, Allen C. McBride and her sister and brother in law, Judy and Ron Kurlander. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday January 7, 2023 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday morning after 9:30 AM until service time. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory to the general fund of Clonmell U.M. Church, 516 W. Broad St., Gibbstown. Memories can be shared at www.mcbridefoleyfh.com.
