Mr. Edward H. McMahon Jr.

Edward H. McMahon Jr. age 75 years of Sewell died Thursday May 21, 2015 in his home surrounded by his family. Ed was born in Camden, raised in Swedesboro and graduated from Paulsboro High School Class of 1958. He retired from DuPont Repauno Works, Gibbstown after 27 years as an operator; he then worked for Radian International as an operator for several years. Ed was a member of Church of the Incarnation, Mantua and the Knights of Columbus Archbishop C.J. Damiano Assembly #6364 where he served as a past Treasurer. He was a Past Chief and Past President of Paulsboro Volunteer Fire Association #1 where he was a member for 55 years; Treasurer for 30 years of the Paulsboro Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association; Life Member of the N.J. State Firemen’s Association and a Treasurer for the N.J. State Firemen’s Exempt Association. Ed continued to serve his community as a councilman in Paulsboro in the 1970’s and on the Paulsboro Board of Education through the 90’s. He enjoyed spending time at his home in Sea Isle, trips to West Virginia, playing cards with family and friends and family events. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Bert McMahon (nee Perogine) of Sewell; loving father to Carolyn and Allen Lamson of Springfield, VA, Edward III and Caroline McMahon of Mantua, Susan and Joe Leo of Aston, PA; devoted grandfather to Kyle, Meghan, Edward IV, Erin, Angela and James; brother to James and Ronnie McMahon of Middletown, DE and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Catherine DeMora and her children Steven, Michael and Sarah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday May 29, 2015 in Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 6 to 9 PM in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 AM in the church until Mass time. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
