Frances Wright

Frances Elizabeth (nee Schwebel) Wright was the third of four children born to Anna (Annie) Kelly Price and her husband Charles Schoda Schwebel. She was born on the old Dupont Farm house on Bailey's Lane in Gibbstown. When she was 11 the family moved to Bridgeport. Frances had no biological sisters but she had a group female friends who lived near each other and they bonded for life. They walked to school, sunday school and church (St. Paul's Methodist) and ate ice cream cones from one end of Bridgeport to the other (Rider's Store, Marion Stanton MaAllister's, Neffs and Heilman's). Each girl just hoping to get the slip in the cone that said the next one was free. Frances worked at DuPont Chambersworks in Deepwater for 18 months after high school and then worked at the Post Office in Brigeport. Frances became a model in Philadelphia and Sanford Florida (Florida Fashions) until she married Captain George Maurice (M'arcey) Wright. Frances was a homemaker and mother during her married life and she raised her daughter and cared for her parents until their death. Frances and her sister-in-law Violet K. Wright cared for their in- laws, William Homan Wright and Ethel Horner Stanton Wright, until they passed. After her husband died she worked outside the home again as a bus driver for Kingsway Regional High School. Frances lived her final 9 years in Orlando and Naples Florida with her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed being at the beach, traveling, the warmth, and extended return trips to Bridgeport to visit with her loved ones, and her ornary orange cat! Frances was proceeded in death by her husband George Maurice, family members Harold Wayne and Sue Kyle Schwebel,Clarence Edward Schwebel, Fredrick Charles Schwebel, James Richard Schwebel, Violet K. Wright, Veronica and Walter "Bud" Heilman, Captain "Jack" Wright, Phil King and Phil Gardiner. She is survived dy her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Franklin McKown. Karla and Todd Bachel (Pa), Kevin and Suzy McKown (Ca), Kent and Beth McKown (SC) and Kirk and Robin McKown (WV) and all their children. Also survivng her are Geraldine T. Schwebel, Irma Jarman, Jean Schwebel, William Wright, Sr, Willard Vandiver and Cathering Kingsland Wright (AZ), Dorothy Wright King, Doris M. Wright, Ethel Gardiner (Ca) and Dot Heilman Folker, as well as many neices and nephews.
