Mr. Fredrick L. Link

Fredrick L. Link age 83 years of Mullica Hill went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 31, 2017 surrounded by his family. Fred was born in Mullica Hill in a manger and graduated from Glassboro High School in 1953. He then joined the United States Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Compton (DD705) and after his discharge he worked at New York Shipyard as a welder. Fred decided to return to school so he could work for U.S. Air. He retired as supervisor after 35 years of service but returned after a short retirement to run the commuter program; staying for another 15 years. He was an active member of St. Paul’s U.M. Church where he served on many committees; Past Master in 1977 of Clarksboro Lodge #87 F.& A.M.; he held memberships in Excelsior Consistory, Collingswood, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest #1, Glassboro; Crescent Temple Shrine; Past Board Member of Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Chapter #70, Paulsboro; Mullica Hill Grange No. 51; Tin Can Sailors; and he served the Harrison Township School Board for 15 years and the Harrison Township Zoning Board. Fred enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Doral Kay Link (nee Schwan) of Mullica Hill; his sons, Jeffrey and Amy Link of Franklinville, Brian and Stacey Link of Somerville, Mass.; his grandchildren, Grayson and Wheaton Link; his brother, Henry and Lee Link of Salem; his sisters, Anna Black of Mullica Hill and Emily and Bill Thompson of Elmer. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday September 6, 2017 in St. Paul’s U.M. Church, 2 E. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 9 PM in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro and Wednesday morning after 9:30 AM in St. Paul’s Church until service time. Paulsboro Lodge #87 will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 PM Tuesday evening. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
