Mrs. Jacqueline Hoffman

Jacqueline Ann Hoffman, 83, of East Falmouth, Massachusetts formerly of Clarksboro, was called home to the Lord, surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 16th after a brave battle with cancer. Jackie was born in 1936 in Chester Springs, Pennsylvania to John and Eleanor Kupsey, the second of their five children. Through her early years, the family moved frequently for her father’s work as a tenant farmer, eventually settling in Bridgeport, NJ. A musical child, Jackie learned to play her father’s accordion and spoke fondly of playing for family and at community events. Jackie attended Paulsboro High School in Paulsboro, NJ where she was elected the student government secretary of her class all four years, played on the girl’s basketball team, and also played in the band. She graduated in 1955 and married shortly thereafter. She was initially employed as an Operator for Bell Telephone, then as a secretary at Air Products and Chemicals in Paulsboro NJ. She retired from Lockheed Martin in Moorestown where she was very proud of her work in the Secured Documents department. After retiring, Jackie moved to Cape Cod to live closer to her daughter Lori and family where she enjoyed the tranquil seaside community of Falmouth. In retirement, she was a prolific knitter and crochet enthusiast, maintaining a constant inventory of handmade baby blankets and booties for the newborn of friends and family. She enjoyed water aerobics classes at the community pool, and was an active member of her beloved Falmouth Baptist Church. Her family is so grateful for the many kind and generous friends from her church and her wonderful and caring neighborhood of Great Harbors who have shown great love and compassion throughout her illness. Their generosity of spirit will always be held dear. A naturally caring and empathetic person, Jackie loved all flora and fauna, especially bunnies, birds, and flowers; all of which she enjoyed watching grow and thrive in her garden until her last days. She had a true “green thumb”, and said she often considered becoming a florist. In heaven she joins her parents and her eldest son, Anthony. She is survived by her daughter Lorena, son-in-law Timothy Grogan and their daughters Natalie Grogan of Santa Monica, CA; Brigid and Colleen Grogan, both of Boston, MA; her son Richard, daughter-in-law Zula and their daughter Nicole of Mickleton, NJ; her son Lee and daughter-in-law Karen of Ridley Park, PA; as well as 3 of her siblings, Eleanor Van Natta of Rancho Dominguez, CA; Stanley Kupsey of Logan Township, NJ; and Stephanie Tracey of Fresno, CA. She is also predeceased by her brother John Kupsey of Gibbstown, NJ. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by McBride – Foley Funeral Home, Paulsboro.
