Mr. Marcus W. Kamp

Marcus (Marc) William Kamp passed away peacefully at the age of 78 years on November 19, 2022. A life-long resident of Paulsboro, New Jersey, Marc graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1962 and went on to earn an Associate of Science in Technology degree from Spring Garden Institute in Building Construction and a Bachelor of Science in Technology from Spring Garden College in Construction Engineering Technology. After graduation, he worked as a project manager at Hughes-Foulkrod Construction Company, an estimator at DIC Concrete Corporation, a zoning officer for the Borough of Paulsboro, a Clerk of the Works for Paulsboro Public Schools, and was an assistant manager at Weiss True Value Hardware. Most recently, Marc was a member and vice-chairperson of The Record Today where he also worked as photographer. He was also a member, trustee, and former treasurer of Congregation B’nai Tikvah Beth Israel in Sewell NJ. Marc was a devoted volunteer to his hometown and surrounding area, tirelessly serving the Borough of Paulsboro, Paulsboro High School, the Tinicum Rear Range Lighthouse Society, and the NJ Lighthouse Managers. Because of his dedication, Marc was awarded a Community Service Award by the Greater Paulsboro Chamber of Commerce. Friends and family of Marc also know of his great love of toy trains, Corvairs, and photography. He is survived by his beloved companion of 18 years, Lillian Johnson, brother, Byron Kamp, daughter Roslynn West, granddaughter Atara West, former wife, Marilyn (Woods) Kamp, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marc was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Weiss Bilick, his father, Manuel Kamp, and brother Harvey Kamp. Visitation will be held at McBride-Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 29th followed by services at 11:00 under direction by Platt Memorial Chapels, Cherry Hill. Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Trevose, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in his memory to Pegasus Education Foundation, 662 N.
