Mr. Nicholas Suprun

Nicholas Suprun, age 90, of Paulsboro died January 4, 2021 at home peacefully surrounded by his family. Mr. Suprun was born in Paulsboro in 1930 to Nick and Elizabeth "Betty" Suprun. As a boy growing up in Paulsboro, he played baseball for the Ramblers and attended Paulsboro High School. In 1948, he saw a beautiful woman get off of the bus in Paulsboro and turned to his friends and said, “That’s the girl I’m going to marry.” It was true love at first sight, and three years later, he married Jeanette Seibert on April 6, 1951. Mr. Suprun went into the Marine Corps in 1951, and served for 2 years. Following his service, he worked for I.P. Thomas then worked at DuPont Chambers Works in Deepwater, NJ, where he retired after 29 years in 1992. Mr. Suprun was a life member of the Billingsport Volunteer Fire Company serving since the early 1960s as well as an early member of the Paulsboro Ambulance. In the 1970s, Mr. Suprun along with his best friend, the late Mr. John Burzichelli Sr, would travel to Canada to bring back Christmas trees that were sold in the lot near the railroad tracks where the Heritage’s Dairy Store now stands. Mr. Suprun was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, and enjoyed visits to Babe’s in Gibbstown with his daughter, Robin where he made many new friends. Mr. Suprun is survived by his daughters, Robin Doak of Gibbstown and Carol Cagle (Mark) of Swedesboro. Mr. Suprun lived his final months lovingly cared for by his devoted granddaughter Megan Tatam, his grandson-in-law Brian, and his great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Cameron, and Tyler in their home. Mr. Suprun is also survived by his loving brother, Stephen Suprun and sister-in-law Sharon of Chester VA, daughter Jeanette Branson of Gibbstown. seven grandchildren, Mark Cagle, Jr. (Kelly), Morgan DeBlasio (Anthony), Raymond Flanigan (Tracy), Nicholas Flanigan (Catherine), Kevin Flanigan, (Gina), Ryan Flanigan (Wendy), and Jenna Ensign (Ken), and eleven more great-grandchildren . Mr. Suprun was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Jeanette D. Suprun, his sister Anna J. DeMora, brother Fred Suprun, son-in-laws, William F. Doak 3rd and John B.G. Branson Jr., grandson Andrew Doak. Burial and services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by McBride – Foley Funeral Home, Paulsboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Suprun’s memory to the Paulsboro Volunteer Fire Department or the National Federation for the Blind.
