Mr. Paul Allen Lamson

Paul Allen Lamson, age 84 years of Gibbstown, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2021 at Harrisonburg Health & Rehab Center, Harrisonburg, VA. Paul was born in Swedesboro, NJ, raised in Gibbstown and was a 1955 graduate of Paulsboro High School. In the late-1950s while roller skating in Denver, CO, he met his future wife. They married on April 4, 1959 and he took his bride to the Woburn area to live with her mother while he was stationed in Thule, Greenland in the United States Army. Paul served in the United States Army from June 1956 through May 1961 as an electrician. In 1961 they moved to Gibbstown where they lived until he moved to Harrisonburg, VA to be near his daughter. Paul worked 37 years for Mobil Research and Development in Paulsboro as a lab technician and then pipefitter. He was also an exempt member of the Gibbstown Volunteer Fire Association; and last attended Hardingville Bible Church. Paul enjoyed home projects including candle-making, model trains, block and concrete work, electrical and plumbing. He was an avid gardener. He is survived by his children, Pam and Gerald Lehman of Dayton, VA; Allen and Carolyn Lamson of Springfield, VA; and Bruce and Karen Lamson of Lincoln University, PA. He was blessed with six grandchildren; Seth and Ali Lehman, Kyle Lamson and Renee Dosick, Meghan Lamson, Connor Lamson, Brenna Lamson and his great grandchildren, Sophie Lehman, Nora Lehman and Jesse Lamson. Mr. Lamson was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Lamson; his grandson, Elias Lehman; parents, Howard & Grace Lamson; siblings, Willard (Jean) Lamson, Miriam Lamson, Dorothy (Allan) Sheets, Elaine (John) Whitelam and Charles (Betty) Lamson. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 29, 2022 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday morning after 9:30 AM until service time. Interment will be at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery, Monroe Twp.
