Mr. Theodore C. Pohlig, Jr.

Theodore C. “Ted” Pohlig Jr. age 73 years of Gibbstown went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 15, 2016 and left his loving family behind. He was born at Cooper Hospital and raised in Paulsboro where he was a 1959 graduate of Paulsboro High School. He attended Goldey Beacom College, Camden County College and Rutgers University. Ted worked for Houdry Company, Air Products in Paulsboro and retired from Griffin Pipe in Florence as Plant Controller. He was a veteran serving as a Staff Sargeant E-6 in the U.S. Army 114th Infantry Foxtrot for sixteen years. Ted was a 50 year member of Clonmell United Methodist Church, Gibbstown; Served as Secretary for Clarksboro Lodge #87 F. & A.M. (was Past Master in 2000 at the Former Paulsboro – Swedesboro Lodge); member Excelsior Consistory A.A.S.R., Collingswood; Crescent Shrine, Burlington; Past Right Worshipful Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey F. & A.M.; member Royal Arch Masons Joshua Chapter # 51, Pitman; Past Worthy Patron of Williamstown Chapter #149, Order of the Eastern Star; Member Order of the Eastern Star, Penns Grove Chapter #86 and the Gibbstown Republican Club. He enjoyed pitching softball for over 20 years with several local teams and was very devoted to his grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Geraldine Pohlig (nee McIlvaine) of Gibbstown; his daughter, Leigh Ann and Ronald J. Redington Jr. of Mullica Hill; his grandchildren, Darien and Rebecca; his brother in law, Edward and Frances Sholders Sr.; several nieces and nephews and his godchild, Robyn (A.J.) Corradetti. Ted was predeceased by his parents, Theodore and Thelma Pohlig and his brother, Richard Pohlig. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday June 21, 2016 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM (Masonic Service at 7:30 PM) and Tuesday morning after 9:30 until service time. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
