Catherine T. Schmutz (nee Dukay) age 58 years of Gibbstown died Saturday June 20, 2015 in Inspira Hospital surrounded by her family. Cathi was born in Philadelphia, raised in National Park and lived in Gibbstown for over 25 years. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star 34 years ago and belonged to Swedesboro Chapter #115 where she was past Worthy Matron; she also held dual memberships with Pitman Chapter #57 and Williamstown Chapter #149 also serving as past Worthy Matron for both chapters. Cathi’s favorite office was Martha; she also served as a grand representative to Alabama. She was a former Mother Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, Mystic Assembly #5. Cathi enjoyed taking her grandchildren on bus trips, going to the beach, reading and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her children, Heather Schmutz of Blackwood, Frank Schmutz Jr. of Gibbstown, Patricia Schmutz of Deptford, Jeani Pratz of Mays Landing and Tara and Ken Shinn of Deptford; her grandchildren, Melissa, Victoria, Matthew and Amelia; her great grandson, Antonio; her brother, Rudolph and Ann Dukay Jr. of North Carolina and her sister, Eleanor Nicholas of Turnersville. Cathi was predeceased by her husband, Frank Schmutz Sr., her parents, Rudolph and Catherine Dukay and her brother, Daniel Dukay. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday July 1 27, 2015 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday morning after 9:30 AM. An Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7:30 PM Wednesday. Inurnment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
