Mrs. Elaine Snyder Smith

February 9, 1942 - August 23, 2020

Elaine M. Smith (nee Snyder) age 78 years of Sewell died Sunday August 23, 2020 in her home surrounded by her family. Elaine was born in Camden, raised in Paulsboro and was a 1959 graduate of Paulsboro High School. She retired after several years as a court clerk in East Greenwich and Elk Townships. Mrs. Smith taught Sunday School at Billingsport U.M. Church and was also a past member of Zion U.M. Church in Clarksboro. She enjoyed baking, especially pies and treasured gathering with her family and friends. Elaine will be remembered for her warm smile and outgoing personality. She is survived by her husband, George Smith of Sewell; her daughters, Sherri and Russ Hilt of Clarksboro, Terri Smith of Wilmington, DE; her grandchildren, Zachary and Meghan Hilt, Justin and Chelsea Hilt, Kelsey Williams, Dylan Hee; her great grandchildren, Shay and Charlotte Hilt; her sisters, Marie Pote and her late husband William of Bethlehem, PA, Edna Searle and her late husband Donald of Pequea, PA, Carol and Bob Parks of Englewood, FL and her sister in law, Claudia Snyder of Bracey, VA. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by her brother, Dale Snyder. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Friday August 28, 2020 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 W. Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday morning after 10 AM until service time. Inurnment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
