Randolph Minix Jr.

August 19, 1922 - August 23, 2013

Randolph M. Minix Jr. age 91 years of Gibbstown died Friday August 23, 2013 in his home. Mr. Minix was born and raised in Paulsboro and lived in Gibbstown since 1960. He was a 1940 graduate of Paulsboro High School and a veteran serving in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He retired from DuPont Chambers Works after 46 years as a lab tech. Mr. Minix played clarinet and sax in the Haskell – Snyder Orchestra, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Queen of Heaven Council #4154, and a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish where he met his wife at St. John’s Church while singing in the choir. He looked forward to attending Army reunions, fishing, going to horse races in Saratoga Springs, NY and vacationing on the Outer Banks. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Theresa Minix (nee Vellutato) of Gibbstown; his son, Randolph M. III and Tammi Minix of Gibbstown; his sister, Ruth Johnson and his brothers, William, Franklin, Robert and David Minix. Mr. Minix was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel, Charles and John and his sister, Martha. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday August 29, 2013 in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, St. Michael’s Church, 313 Memorial Avenue, Gibbstown. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM and Thursday morning after 9:30 AM in the church until Mass time. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery.
