Mrs. Betsy Ann Miller

Betsy Ann Miller (nee McAllister) age 71 years of Millville died Wednesday June 15, 2016 in Christiana Hospital, Newark, Delaware. She was born to the Late Harry and Minnie (Layton) McAllister on October 20, 1944 in Penns Grove. Betsy was a 1962 graduate of Penns Grove High School and then Graduated from Goldey Beacom Junior College. After graduation, she started work at DuPont Company in Wilmington where she became an executive secretary. After her marriage to Dennis Miller they moved to Clarksboro where she continued to work while raising her children. She worked as a legal secretary for the Honorable Joseph Enos, Honorable Samuel DeSimone, Honorable John Tomasello and Honorable Jeff Sprigman. After her children where grown, she returned to work for DuPont Compnay in Wilmington; retiring in 2005 and moving to Vineland eight years ago. She was a former member of Zion United Methodist Church, Clarksboro and a congregant at the former Rock Church in Pitman. Betsy served on the East Greenwich Twp. School Board for 12 years; Gloucester County Juvenile Conference Committee and the Child Placement Review Board. She was a former member of the Gloucester County Legal Secretaries Association where she was Past President. In her free time she enjoyed volunteering at Wheaton Village in Millville. She is survived by her children, David Miller of Mt. Royal, Amanda Miller of Vineland; her grandchildren, Alexis, Shawn, Corey and Joshua; her sister, Katherine Powell of Pittsburgh, PA; her brother in law, Ausby Samuels; her nephew, Roger Everline; her nieces, Stacey Murphy, Stephanie Andrus, Melissa McInerney, Elizabeth McKensley and Sarah Minneman and their children whom she dearly loved and her former husband and friend, Dennis Miller of Estell Manor, NJ. At Betsy’s request, cremation services will be private. She was an organ donor and asks for no flowers. Betsy’s final request was that you hug a loved one and let them know how much you love them or perform a single act of kindness in her memory. That was Betsy, an extraordinary lady!
